SMARTIE PARTIE evolved from TRACE HARRIS's percussion residency at the 'Ministry of Sound'
during the mid 90's. Already a known face & name on the club-scene, it was no surprise when 200 people
turned up for his birthday on the 'Temple Pier Boat' back in December 1996.
It was from this event the idea of SP was born. Joining forces with his then girlfriend CLAIRE WHITE,
they went on to host parties under the SMARTIE PARITE name
at venues such as Emporium / Aquarium / Hanover Grand / Bagleys etc.
Having grown an established following, they then took a 5 year monthly residency at the 'Ministry of Sound',
where SMARTIE PARTIE's djs, dancers & percussion entertained The Ministry while it was in its prime.
Trace was still travelling the world as the Ministry's resident percussionist & it was during this time
that he helped set up SP Tours in 15+ countries around the world.
In venues such as Colmillo (Mexico City), Marina Club (Bahrain), The Colleseum & Enigma (Abu Dhabi), Privillege (Ibiza) & more.

After the Ministry, SMARTIE PARTIE had 3 fantastic years of monthly parties at 'The Glasshouse',
Londons only nightclub (at the time) to boast river views across the city.
SP then moved onto a monthly residency at the legendary 'Turnmills' which became their new home for
the next 5yrs. It was here, SP really came into its own
making some of its closest & dearest friends to date.
With the very sad closure of Turnmills in March 2008, SP moved to Scala in Kings Cross.
It was the perfect blank canvas for the SP team to get creative & bring something different to
London's clubland. They had 12 amazing parties within that great space, before once again hitting the road
hosting venues across the UK & across Europe.
